Sing and Dance Australia is the meanderings of a group of creatives, provoking discussions regarding the performing arts in Australia and beyond.

Published by the National Institute for Youth Performing Arts, Sing and Dance Australia has a strong belief that involvement in the performing arts has a role in developing self esteem and confidence, as well as fostering creativity. Nations have defined themselves through songs and movement since the dawn of time. The first most powerful musical instrument was and still is the voice! Rhythmic movement is a response to music in children as young as a few months old. 

 Engaging young people in the arts gives them a sense of connectedness to the world around them as they meet new people and learn new skills.

Since 1975, NIYPAA has touched the lives of young performers around Australia, with programs established in five states.  Programs offer young people tuition in vocal or jazz dance skills enabling them to make new friends and share in a different form of community .
